London 24-Hour Bus Routes

Around 50 TfL daytime bus routes (such as 25, 38, 73, 149, 205) keep their normal number and run a continuous 24-hour service — distinct from the N-prefix night buses. Same £1.75 fare, same Hopper transfers, lower frequency between midnight and 05:00.

London's 24-hour bus routes are regular daytime services that simply don't stop at night. They retain the same route number, the same destination blinds, and the same operator — the only thing that changes is the frequency drops to every 15–30 minutes between roughly 00:30 and 05:00.

They complement the dedicated N-prefix night buses and the Friday/Saturday Night Tube, forming a comprehensive overnight network.

FAQs

What's the difference between a 24-hour bus and an N-prefix night bus?

A 24-hour route keeps its daytime number all night (e.g. route 25 runs as '25' at 03:00). N-prefix buses are dedicated overnight services that don't run during the day.

Are 24-hour bus fares different at night?

No — £1.75 flat fare, £5.25 daily cap and Hopper transfers apply at every hour.

How often do 24-hour buses run overnight?

Typically every 15–30 minutes between midnight and 05:00, depending on the route. Check TfL Go for live arrivals.
