What is the Night Tube?

The Night Tube is a 24-hour Friday and Saturday service on five Underground lines, introduced in 2016. Trains run roughly every 10 minutes through the night.

Lines that run all night (Fri / Sat)

  • Central line — between Ealing Broadway and Hainault / Loughton.
  • Jubilee line — full line, Stanmore to Stratford.
  • Northern line — Edgware / High Barnet to Morden, via Charing Cross only.
  • Piccadilly line — Cockfosters to Heathrow Terminal 5.
  • Victoria line — full line, Walthamstow Central to Brixton.

Night Overground

Selected London Overground sections also run 24-hour Friday and Saturday, currently on the East London branch (Highbury & Islington ⇄ New Cross Gate).

What's NOT 24 hours

  • The Elizabeth line does not run all night.
  • The DLR, Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Waterloo & City lines all close as normal.

When the Night Tube doesn't go where you need

  • Night buses — the N-prefix bus network is huge, covers everywhere the Night Tube misses, and uses normal contactless fares.
  • Taxis and ride-shares — black cabs, Uber and Bolt all operate 24/7.

Practical tips

  • Last trains on non-Night Tube lines leave most central stations around 00:30.
  • Fares on the Night Tube use the off-peak rate with normal daily caps.
  • Stations along Night Tube lines stay open; stations on closed lines do not.
