London Shuttle Bus

London's shuttle buses are concentrated at the airports — paid hotel hoppers, free inter-terminal transfers, and inter-airport coaches. Central London uses regular TfL buses; private hotel courtesy buses are not listed here unless they form a named, ticketed network.

FAQs

What shuttle buses run in London?

London's named shuttle buses cluster around the airports: Heathrow Hotel Hoppa (paid, multi-hotel), Heathrow inter-terminal free buses (TfL 482, 490 and free rail transfers), Gatwick inter-terminal transit, and Stansted's airside Track Transit System. Most central-London 'shuttles' are private hotel courtesy buses.

Is there a shuttle between London airports?

No single shuttle. National Express coach links most airport pairs (e.g. Heathrow ↔ Gatwick A1 every 30 min, ~1h15) — see National Express airport coach. Rail via central London is usually faster.

Is the Hotel Hoppa free?

No — Hotel Hoppa charges £6.50 single / £11 return (2026) per passenger. Children under 15 ride free with a paying adult. Tickets bought online are cheaper than on board.

Is the Heathrow inter-terminal transfer free?

Yes. Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line are free between terminals (T2/T3 ⇄ T5 ⇄ T4). TfL bus routes 482 and 490 run between terminals at no charge when staying within the airport.
