London DLR — Docklands Light Railway

The Docklands Light Railway is London's fully automated metro serving East London — from Bank and Tower Gateway out to Canary Wharf, London City Airport, Stratford, Lewisham, Beckton and Woolwich Arsenal.

The DLR opened in 1987 and remains one of the few fully driverless metros in Europe. It is the backbone of public transport in the Docklands and connects the City of London to London City Airport (LCY), Canary Wharf, ExCeL, The O2 (via Pontoon Dock + Cable Car) and the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

Every DLR station is step-free — making it London's most accessible rail network. Trains run every 3–10 minutes from around 05:30 to 00:30, and all DLR services accept contactless, Oyster and daily / weekly caps in the same way as the Tube.
