London Weekend Night Transport

Friday and Saturday nights are London's busiest for late travel — the only nights with the Night Tube and Night Overground. Combined with the daily N-prefix bus and 24-hour route network, the city moves around the clock.

How to plan a Fri/Sat night journey

  1. Check whether your origin and destination are on one of the five Night Tube lines or Night Overground — if yes, that's almost always fastest.
  2. Otherwise, find the parallel N-prefix bus or 24-hour day route in the night bus directory.
  3. Use the Hopper fare — tap a second bus within 60 minutes and pay nothing extra.
  4. For outer-London journeys, consider a taxi or PHV for the last mile rather than waiting 30 minutes for a connecting bus.
