About the Tramlink Route 1 โ€” Elmers End โ†” Wimbledon

Route 1 opened in May 2000 as part of London's first modern tram network. Every stop is fully step-free with low-floor boarding, and the trams accept Oyster, contactless and TfL daily/weekly caps at the same Tram fare for any journey.

The route interchanges with National Rail at Elmers End, Beckenham Junction (via Route 2), East Croydon, West Croydon, Mitcham Junction and Wimbledon (also District line and SWR).

Trams run every 7โ€“10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes in the early morning and late evening, with the last departures around 00:30.
